Further, you can record enable EZdrummer 2. If not, you can export the MIDI and then drag it from your hard drive into EZdrummer 2. I have to drag a loop up to a track in Acid in order to trigger the drum sounds through Ezdrummer. When I try it just plays the midi piano notes. In fact, many parameters of virtual instruments can be edited and automated after your performance. Third party midi drum loops: When I access them through the Acid Explorer window (while having EZdrummer open via soft synth) I cant audition/preview the loops within the Acid explorer window. Some of the parameters that can be changed are the note timing, velocity, and pitch. But it's all a process of elimination regardless. If your host support MIDI to be dragged out, you can simply drag the MIDI from the host to EZdrummer 2’s timeline again. Editing MIDI In Reaper Once you have recorded a MIDI performance there are many tools available to help you shape the recorded data. If one track has maximum velocity, the other 1/2 of that velocity, there is likely your answer. I'd compare the two differing tracks in question to see if the raw MIDI velocity data is the same. Shorter bars = quieter notes, bars that reach the top = maximum volume notes * The velocity is indicated by a horizontal bar. As an aside you can select any data you want via the pick list at the bottom left corner. * Note the bottom most section of the view has the velocity information displayed.

Maybe the Roland is outputting low MIDI velocity, or the MIDI Mapper is killing the velocity? So I'd start my investigation on with those three pieces of the puzzle. So that would indicate a difference between the Axiom and Roland, or the e-drum MIDI mapper assuming you're using different maps for the Axiom and Roland module. It appears your MIDI hardware is the same. But troubleshooting is a process of elimination.
